A New York Times Fellow with an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from New York University, she had the honor & pleasure of studying with Sharon Olds, Galway Kinnell, Marie Howe, Philip Levine, Donald Hall, Jean Valentine, and Robert Bly.
Her undergraduate heroes at the University of New Hampshire were Charles Simic and McKeel McBride, who helped pave the way to her belief that a life can indeed be lived with poetry at its heart.

Living the island life
As a licensed & coast guard certified boat captain & registered yoga teacher, she teaches & practice yoga & plays on & in the ocean whenever possible.
She lives in Key West, Florida with her two daughters & kitten, & is dedicated to living a more luminous, joyful & creative life- as simply & sanely as possible.
